Rez Power
NEWS!
• Josh N., after being with us for over 2 years, has moved on from the Serenity House to attend school at the Hiram G. Andrews Center in Johnstown, PA. The mission of HGAC is to offer quality individualized post-secondary education, which provides career opportunities and independent life skills. God be with you Josh!
• Natalie T., a resident at the Resurrection House, has started back to college at California University majoring in Social Work, and she is loving it!!!
• January 1st marked a change for the women’s house. April Addis who was our faithful house manager has decided to move on and is living with her family now. We are sad to see April go, but we are happy for the ongoing growth in her recovery.
• Lori Schubert is the current Resurrection House manager. Lori has multiple years clean and sober, is a graduate of the Vineyard Leadership Institute and is very active at the Vineyard Church of Washington. She is currently employed by the Lighthouse for Women, a half-way house operated by Greenbrier Treatment Center.
• We also have a new house manager at the Serenity House. Ken McPhail has successfully completed and graduated from Treatment Court and has received training from the State of Pennsylvania to help him be an effective mentor for others. Sean Yee is the new houseman at Serenity house. Sean has a year clean, is employed by LS Renovations, and works a great recovery program. Sean also currently attends the Vineyard Church of Washington.
• Part of our Director's journey included a 6 month stint on full-time staff with the Washington City Mission! In an effort to cut costs, he moved to part-time with Rez Power while working for the City Mission. However, trying to juggle both positions caused Rez Power’s ministry to suffer. So in faith, he is back to full-time with Resurrection Power. We hope we can eventually reinstate a salary for him in the near future.
